SHELLEY CORR

Shelley has been an educator for more than twenty-five years, working both in schools
and in private practice. Shelley is an ALTA-certified academic language therapist
(CALT), IDA-certified structured literacy dyslexia therapist (C-SLDS), holds a master’s
degree in reading from Kansas University, and is certified by the state of Oklahoma in
Special Education, Elementary, and several areas both in secondary education.
Shelley provides therapeutic intervention for students who are dyslexic or have other
language-based learning difficulties. She also provides early-intervention for young
students who are at risk for reading failure, as well as helping older students with all
areas of language.
Shelley is trained in multiple Orton-Gillingham based intervention programs. She tailors
individualized programs for her students working on reading, self-esteem, and self-
advocacy.
Shelley is a certified student advocate and helps families understand what to expect
during the assessment/testing process, how to work through the IEP process with the
school and attends IEP meetings with families. This process can be very emotional for
families and Shelley helps them work through these emotions so that there can be a
successful outcome for their student.
Shelley is the co-director of Core of Knowledge Literacy and Learning Center. She
opened this center with her daughter, Jamie Garcia, in 2020. At Core of Knowledge,
they service students and families throughout Edmond and the surrounding Metro area.

Jamie has been an educator for a decade, working both in schools and in private
practice. Jamie is an ALTA-certified academic language therapist (CALT), a
multisensory math interventionist, holds a master’s degree in applied behavioral studies
from Oklahoma City University, and is certified by the state of Oklahoma in
English/Language Arts.
Jamie provides therapeutic intervention for students who are dyslexic or have other
language-based learning difficulties. She also provides early-intervention for young
students who are at risk for reading failure, as well as helping older students with all
areas of language. In addition to the focus on language-based learning differences,
Jamie specializes in multisensory math intervention and instruction.
Jamie is trained in multiple Orton-Gillingham based intervention programs. She tailors
individualized programs for her students working on reading, self-esteem, and self-
advocacy. She has also completed the first year of Marilyn Zecher’s multisensory math
intervention program and uses these principles in tailoring interventions and
accommodations for students who are struggling.
Jamie is the co-director of Core of Knowledge Literacy and Learning Center. She
opened this center with her mother, Shelley Corr, in 2020. At Core of Knowledge, they
service students and families throughout Edmond and the surrounding Metro area.
